Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mei Dabest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dabest shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dabest looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Jackson misses with a few strikes there.

Jackson takes the fight into the clinch.

Jackson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dabest is trying to keep an underhook but Jackson manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Dabest is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jackson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Jackson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dabest defends it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dabest looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Dabest is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Dabest throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet.
Dabest could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dabest is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Dabest seems to be looking for submissions.
Dabest stops Jackson from getting back to his feet.

Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dabest is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jackson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Dabest throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Dabest's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dabest might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dabest. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee asks Jackson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jackson prefers to stall for the moment though.

Dabest is bucking up trying to escape but Jackson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Jackson breaks from Dabest's wrist control and lands an elbow.


Dabest is rocked!

Jackson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Oh Dabest is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dabest seems to have got his legs back now.

The referee warns Dabest that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Jackson is working for a guillotine from mount but Dabest frees his head quite easily.

Jackson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Dabest has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dabest tries to buck Jackson off but he can't manage it.
Jackson controlling the pace for now.
Michael Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Despite being in the dominant position, Michael Jackson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jackson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dabest to the mat! Dabest manages to get full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackson in particular looking to stall.
