Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Skull Crash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, Humberto Montes!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Crash throws a hook but Montes blocks it.
Crash tries to land a leg kick but Montes saw it coming and moves away.
Montes lands a really nice looking cross but Crash seems unphased.
Humberto Montes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A clash of legs there as Crash blocks the low kick.
Crash stuffs the takedown attempt from Montes. Montes gets slowly back to his feet.
Montes lands a head shot.
Montes tries to land a front kick but Crash steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Montes blocks a head kick by Crash.
Crash pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Crash throws a low kick but it's checked well by Montes.
Crash motions for Montes to come forward. Crash throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Crash takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Crash looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Montes tries to land a front kick but Crash steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Crash thows a body shot but no joy.
Montes takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Montes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Crash's half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Crash is trying to control but can't.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Montes wants to work for an arm triangle but Crash is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Montes is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Montes wants to control from the top but Crash keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Skull Crash will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Montes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Montes swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Montes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Montes throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Crash throws out a leg kick but Montes moves out of range and Crash only half commits.
Crash moves out of range of the strikes.
Crash throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Montes's head.
Crash moves out of range of the body kick from Montes.
Montes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Crash as he avoids it easily.
Montes misses with an attempted mid kick.
Crash looks to throw a body kick
and Montes counters with a nice uppercut.
Montes throws a push kick but Crash slaps the foot to one side.

Montes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Crash tries to avoid it but Montes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Crash to the ground. Crash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Montes throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Montes takes a swing at Crash's ribcage but misses.
Crash lands with a kick to the temple. Montes shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Crash lands a big head kick that sends Montes tumbling to the mat! Crash takes a step backwards and waves Montes back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Montes takes one on the button.
Skull Crash is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Crash ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Montes moves away.
Montes looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Crash does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Crash stuffs the takedown attempt from Montes. Montes gets slowly back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Montes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Crash looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Montes is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Crash regains half guard there - taking advantage of Montes's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Crash tries to get to full guard but Montes has control of the leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crash shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Montes eats them both and turns towards Crash to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Crash, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
