The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe throws a head kick that misses.
Doe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smokeleaf as he jumps to the side.
Jesus Smokeleaf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smokeleaf is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Smokeleaf scores with a head kick. Doe tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Doe goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Jesus Smokeleaf has been cut.
Smokeleaf tries to clinch but Doe is having none of it.
Smokeleaf pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smokeleaf breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smokeleaf tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Doe manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Doe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Smokeleaf throws a knee to the head but misses.
Doe blocks the elbow strike.

Clinched against the cage, Smokeleaf lands a big elbow that drops Doe! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Doe is complaining that he's OK but he was done.

Jesus Smokeleaf decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
