Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Suave Ripkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ewan Turnbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Suave Ripkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ewan Turnbull! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ripkin fails with the takedown. Ripkin misses with a double jab.
No luck for Ripkin with that takedown attempt. Ripkin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Suave Ripkin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Turnbull with a poor takedown and Ripkin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ripkin. Ripkin has gone for a leg lock! Turnbull slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ripkin's guard. Ripkin is working an open guard so Turnbull takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ripkin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Turnbull quickly recovers to half guard. Ripkin is looking for a kimura but Turnbull is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ripkin to get the leverage. Ripkin tries to pass to full mount but Turnbull defends it. Turnbull is not content to let Ripkin control the position. Ripkin is trying to work for a kimura but Turnbull is defending well.

Turnbull really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ripkin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Turnbull stuffs the takedown. Horrible takedown by Ripkin or perhaps it was just good defense by Turnbull which made him look bad. Ripkin has a takedown stuffed. Ripkin has his takedown stuffed and Turnbull decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ripkin's guard.

Turnbull gets to his feet - Ripkin follows without any prompting. Ripkin shoots in for a takedown but Turnbull shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ripkin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Turnbull avoids it really well and circles away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Turnbull is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ripkin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ripkin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Turnbull is fending him off so far but Ripkin persists. Nope, Turnbull circles away and we're back to standing. Suave Ripkin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ripkin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Turnbull to the ground. Ripkin is now in Turnbull's guard. Ripkin wants to pass the guard but Turnbull is keeping the position. Turnbull wants to stand and escape but Ripkin is having none of it. Ripkin has gone for a leg lock! Turnbull slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ripkin's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ripkin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Turnbull swivels and escapes. Turnbull shoots in but Ripkin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Turnbull shoots and misses and Ripkin counters with a shoot takedown. Turnbull fights it but they end up in guard. Ripkin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ripkin wants to pass the guard but Turnbull is keeping the position. Turnbull is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ripkin is controlling him. Turnbull keeping full guard, as Ripkin tries to pass. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ripkin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Suave Ripkin will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turnbull gets caught napping as Ripkin dives in and scores a takedown. Turnbull manages to retain guard. Ripkin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Turnbull swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ripkin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Turnbull dives on top into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ripkin has an active guard here but Turnbull has managed to pass into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Turnbull stands up and beckons Ripkin to join him on the feet. Ripkin shoots for a double leg takedown but Turnbull sprawls well. He's pushed Ripkin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ripkin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Turnbull tries to avoid it but Ripkin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Turnbull to the ground. Turnbull escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Turnbull misses with a takedown attempt - Ripkin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ewan Turnbull has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ripkin. Ripkin shoots in looking for a takedown but Turnbull manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ripkin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ripkin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ripkin shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ripkin showed some decent athleticism there. Ripkin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Suave Ripkin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turnbull is not content to let Ripkin control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Suave Ripkin showed his dominance in that final round. Well Ripkin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
