Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sam Quentin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wesley Cabbage! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quentin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cabbage moves out of range as Quentin strikes. Cabbage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Quentin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Quentin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cabbage with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Cabbage trying to control from the bottom.
Quentin is keen to just control but Cabbage is a slippery customer. Quentin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Quentin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Quentin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quentin throwing shots but Cabbage is blocking nicely. Quentin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cabbage does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Quentin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cabbage with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Quentin scoring with strikes to the body and head. Cabbage avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Quentin. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Quentin thows a huge punch but Cabbage dodges it nicely.
Quentin wants to control but Cabbage is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cabbage keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Quentin controlling the action here.
Sam Quentin has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Quentin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nice shot by Quentin. Quentin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Quentin throws a monster overhand right that drops Cabbage! Quentin follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
