Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Romanelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Romanelli!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ripper scores a takedown into full mount!

Ripper is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Romanelli has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Romanelli defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Ripper.
Romanelli tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Ripper looking to secure an arm triangle but Romanelli defends it well.

Ripper goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Romanelli is on top in guard.

Ripper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Romanelli doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Romanelli manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Romanelli wants to control from the top but Ripper keeps moving.

Romanelli gets to his feet - Ripper follows without any prompting.
Romanelli tries to bum rush Ripper with a series of wild strikes but Ripper uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Romanelli connects with a nice looking jab.

Ripper shoots in and bounces Romanelli off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Romanelli is working an open guard so Ripper takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Romanelli scores with a punch to the head.

Ripper closes the distance and clinches up with Romanelli, looking for a takedown. Ripper pushes Romanelli against the cage but Romanelli circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ripper fails to land the takedown.
Ripper is breathing heavily.
Romanelli misses with a series of wild punches.
Romanelli takes a swing at Ripper's ribcage but misses.
Romanelli throws a jab when Ripper was well out of range.
Romanelli misses with a body shot.
Romanelli misses with a double jab.
No luck for Ripper with that takedown attempt.

Ripper fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Romanelli on the side of the head.

Dominic Romanelli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ripper looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Romanelli is fending him off so far but Ripper persists. Nope, Romanelli circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Romanelli swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Romanelli catches Ripper with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ripper tries for a takedown but Romanelli sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dominic Romanelli will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ripper shoots in for a double leg but Romanelli sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Romanelli thows a left - swing and a miss!
Romanelli throws a series of punches but Ripper avoids them all with ease.
Nice sprawl there from Romanelli as Ripper shoots in.
Dominic Romanelli is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Romanelli ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ripper fails with the takedown.

Nice uppercut lands for Romanelli. That snapped Ripper's head back.
Romanelli throws a right hand that Ripper ducks under and follows up with a left that Ripper also avoids with ease.
Ripper takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Ripper throws the left hand but Romanelli avoids the punch easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Romanelli ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

A jab from Romanelli finds it's way through Ripper's defenses.
Nice takedown defense from Romanelli. No joy for Ripper on that attempt.
Romanelli ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ripper moves away.
A combination from Romanelli does no damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ripper bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ripper wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Romanelli, who protects the arm well.
Romanelli is trying to buck Ripper off.

Ripper is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Romanelli is trying to escape and Ripper transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Romanelli is forced to tap! Nice work there by Ripper! Very nice indeed!
