Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabriel Rhababer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tim Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Alvarez gets caught napping as Rhababer dives in and scores a takedown. Alvarez manages to retain guard.

Rhababer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alvarez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rhababer has managed to get both his arms back between Alvarez's legs - danger averted.
Rhababer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alvarez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rhababer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rhababer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alvarez's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gabriel Rhababer will probably get the nod.

Rhababer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Alvarez pulls his leg out and moves away.

Alvarez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Rhababer leaves Alvarez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Rhababer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alvarez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
