Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Athan Stamatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takashi Katsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stamatis's entrance music is Lose Yourself. A fine choice. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Athan Stamatis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Takashi Katsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Katsumoto.
Katsumoto swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Stamatis.
Katsumoto throws a hook but Stamatis avoids it easily.
Katsumoto lands a nice looking body shot.
Katsumoto connects with a leg kick. Stamatis looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
A punch combination from Katsumoto misses.
Katsumoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Katsumoto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Katsumoto on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Stamatis stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That kick from Katsumoto tenderised Stamatis's leg. Stamatis is trying to keep his angry face on.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stamatis buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Stamatis is looking to slow Katsumoto down with leg kicks.
Katsumoto wants to slow Stamatis down by chopping away at his legs.
Katsumoto missing with a left hand there. Stamatis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Katsumoto moves in looking to clinch but Stamatis pushes him off.
Sloppy strikes from Stamatis. Those never looked like landing.

Stamatis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Katsumoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Stamatis throws out a powerful jab.
Katsumoto scores with a head kick.
Katsumoto takes a jab right on the kisser.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Katsumoto does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Stamatis moves out of range as Katsumoto strikes.
Katsumoto thows a leg kick but Stamatis checks it
and Stamatis counters with a body kick.
Takashi Katsumoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stamatis pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Katsumoto connects with an inside leg kick.
Stamatis just misses with a punch to the body.
Katsumoto scores with a nice body kick.
Katsumoto throws a head kick that half lands.
Takashi Katsumoto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick misses from Katsumoto.
Katsumoto ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stamatis moves away.
A bone on bone clash there as Stamatis blocks the leg kick.

Katsumoto misses with a low kick.
Katsumoto throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stamatis sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Donk. Katsumoto catches Stamatis right on the button with a cross.
Stamatis misses with a low kick as Katsumoto jumps back.
Stamatis delivers a nice body kick.
Katsumoto jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Katsumoto avoids a kick to the body.
Katsumoto on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Stamatis. Stamatis obviously looking to wear him down.
Stamatis connects with the punch.
Stamatis checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Stamatis loads up on a big right hand but Katsumoto slips the punch.
Katsumoto throws a lazy head kick
and Stamatis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stamatis circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Katsumoto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stamatis misses with a looping left.
Katsumoto displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stamatis.
Stamatis on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Stamatis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Katsumoto.
Katsumoto tries a head kick but it misses.
Stamatis throws a leg kick that is checked

and Katsumoto counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Katsumoto misses with an elbow over the top.

Stamatis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stamatis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Stamatis misses with a hook. Katsumoto ducked under it nicely.
Katsumoto looks to land a body kick but Stamatis moved away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takashi Katsumoto dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Stamatis lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Katsumoto has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Katsumoto and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Stamatis lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Stamatis takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Stamatis thows a leg kick but Katsumoto checks it
and Katsumoto counters with a thumping low kick.
Katsumoto throws a front kick aimed at Stamatis's knee but Stamatis avoids it well.
Stamatis throws a nice outside leg kick.
Stamatis lands a head kick!
Stamatis checks a low kick from Katsumoto.
Stamatis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Stamatis pivots, looking for a leg kick but Katsumoto is out of range and Stamatis settles back down.
Katsumoto getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Katsumoto scoring well with a low kick there.
That kick from Katsumoto tenderised Stamatis's leg. Stamatis is trying to keep his angry face on.
Katsumoto scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Katsumoto lands with a shot to the body.

Stamatis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Katsumoto on his heels. He'll look to pass Katsumoto's guard now, I'm sure.
Katsumoto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stamatis!

Stamatis is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Katsumoto with the ground and pound from mount.
Oh Stamatis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Katsumoto is landing with some decent strikes but Stamatis is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Katsumoto! Stamatis is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Takashi Katsumoto!
Takashi Katsumoto bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
