Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Konar Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Wong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Konar Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Wong!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wong has managed to clinch.
Paul working hard to break the clinch.

Wong jumps guard and drags Paul to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Wong trying to control the position here.

Wong pushes Paul off and gets back to his feet.
Paul has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Wong.
Paul tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Wong clinches with his opponent.
Paul is breathing heavily.
Wong misses with a knee to the head.

Paul is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Wong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wong keeps control of Paul as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Wong pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Paul throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wong throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Wong closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wong lands in his opponent's guard.
Paul has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Wong has passed into side control.

Wong scores with punches from side control.
Wong is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wong advances to full mount.

Wong looking to finish Paul with some ground and pound. This is bad for Paul!
Wong tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Paul takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Paul might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wong is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Paul to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Paul shrugs it off.

Wong jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Paul manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wong scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Paul to see if he's OK.

Wong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wong lands some shots froms side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wong shoots in and drives through. Paul sprawls well.
Bobby Wong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paul takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Wong is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Paul's half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bobby Wong.
Wong fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wong missing with a left hand there. Paul was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Wong swings for the body but Paul moves out of range.
Wong throws a sloppy head kick and Paul moves out of range easily.
Konar Paul is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wong passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Paul being controlled for a moment.

Wong is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Paul is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Paul knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wong on the ground.
Wong working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Wong decides to stand back up.

Wong shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paul's guard.

Wong gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paul blocks a head kick by Wong.
Paul stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wong.
Wong shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Paul defends it nicely.
Wong closes the distance and clinches up with Paul, looking for a takedown. Wong pushes Paul against the cage but Paul circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Wong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Wong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Paul as he avoids it easily.

Wong gets the takedown into side control.
Paul is trying to escape the position but Wong is controlling the position.
Wong lands a few punches from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paul gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Wong with good strikes from the mount here!

Wong lands a heavy elbow.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wong sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Paul really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Wong controlling his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Wong dominating with strikes here.
Wong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Wong is landing with some decent strikes but Paul is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Oh Paul is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wong's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Wong working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Paul turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Wong off and cradles Paul's limp body as Wong celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Bobby Wong!
