PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eddard Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Subdollah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddard Stark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Amir Subdollah!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark closes the distance and clinches up with Subdollah, looking for a takedown. Stark pushes Subdollah against the cage but Subdollah circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Subdollah counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Stark shoots for a double leg takedown but Subdollah sprawls well. He's pushed Stark's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Eddard Stark will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Subdollah will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A close second round but Amir Subdollah will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Stark stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Subdollah swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Stark is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Subdollah lands a leg kick that knocks Stark off balance momentarily.

Stark throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Subdollah tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stark is in Subdollah's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Let's hope that Subdollah has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Subdollah slaps away a takedown attempt from Stark, before circling back to the center of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eddard Stark.
I think Stark has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
