Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dawn Keebals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Raphson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dawn Keebals!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Raphson!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keebals misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Keebals misses with a few strikes there.
Keebals stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Keebals wants it to stay on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Raphson.
Keebals throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Raphson.
Horrible takedown by Raphson or perhaps it was just good defense by Keebals which made him look bad.
Dawn Keebals has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Raphson.

Keebals shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Raphson as he avoids it easily.

Keebals tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Raphson was well out of range. Poor timing from Keebals.
Raphson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Keebals's waist but Keebals gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Raphson off to one side.

Keebals looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Raphson is fending him off so far but Keebals persists. Nope, Raphson circles away and we're back to standing.

Keebals shoots in looking for a takedown but Raphson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Keebals's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Raphson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Keebals's guard.
Raphson is looking to advance position but Keebals has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Keebals tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Raphson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Keebals controlling the pace for now.

Keebals tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Keebals has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Raphson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Keebals's guard.
Raphson looking to sit in guard and control but Keebals gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Keebals wants to get up but he can't break Raphson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

and Raphson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Raphson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Keebals avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Keebals tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Raphson smiles and moves away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Raphson is defended easily by Keebals.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Raphson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Raphson manages to end up in side control.
Keebals on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Keebals tries to get out of the position.

Raphson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Keebals works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Raphson wants to pass to mount but Keebals is defending the position.
Raphson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Raphson is stalling here. Keebals is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Raphson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Keebals has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Keebals postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Dawn Keebals has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Raphson fails to land the takedown.
Dawn Keebals seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Raphson shoots in looking for a takedown but Keebals manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Raphson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Raphson leaves Keebals with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dawn Keebals is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Raphson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Keebals, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
