Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Heinrich Dussander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Mullin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dussander comes to the cage accompanied by Gary Jules - Mad World (2011 Electro Mix). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Heinrich Dussander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Mullin!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Dussander takes a swing at Mullin's ribcage but misses.
Dussander checks the leg kick.
Dussander keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dussander throws a big shot that misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mullin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dussander scores with a nice strike.
Mullin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dussander avoids it really well and circles away.
Mullin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dussander.
Mullin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mullin.

Mullin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dussander sprawls well initially but Mullin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Mullin tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Dussander gets back to full guard.
Mullin looking to pass the guard.
Dussander wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mullin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dussander. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mullin trying to control the position from guard on top but Dussander is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dussander bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mullin's guard.
Mullin has control of Dussander's left arm, preventing Dussander from doing any damage.

Dussander tries to free his leg and advance position but Mullin is retaining full guard.
Mullin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Michael Mullin was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Dussander throws out a loose jab but Mullin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Good standup being displayed there by Dussander as he connects with a hook.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mullin on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dussander avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mullin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dussander swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mullin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Dussander.
Dussander misses with the body kick
and Mullin counters with a three punch combo that has Dussander backing up. Dussander nods at Mullin to acknowledge the strikes.

Dussander changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mullin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Dussander is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mullin has escaped the position, nice work there.

Dussander throws an elbow but Mullin slips to the side and avoids it well.
Dussander misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Dussander tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Dussander thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dussander in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Mullin can't do much from the bottom here.
Mullin is pushing Dussander's head away, looking to escape. Dussander manages to hold on to the position though.

Mullin is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Mullin is trying to improve his position.
Mullin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Dussander tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dussander has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dussander throws a strike aimed at the side of Mullin's head but Mullin avoids it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mullin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Dussander seems to be working for a kimura but Mullin defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heinrich Dussander dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mullin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dussander sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mullin somewhat.
Dussander stuffs the takedown attempt from Mullin. Mullin gets slowly back to his feet.
Mullin closes the distance and clinches up with Dussander, looking for a takedown. Mullin pushes Dussander against the cage but Dussander circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Dussander is not content to let Mullin control the position.
Dussander is looking for a sweep.

Heinrich Dussander overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dussander is staying active underneath Mullin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mullin is taking a breather. Dussander says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Michael Mullin wasn't active enough on the ground.
Mullin shoots in looking for a takedown. Dussander tries to sprawl out of it but Mullin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dussander manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Dussander has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mullin stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mullin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Dussander breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Michael Mullin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dussander misses the shot to the body.
Dussander stuffs the takedown.

Dussander ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mullin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dussander as he avoids it easily.
Mullin tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Dussander fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mullin manages to avoid it.
Dussander lands a nice looking kick to the body. Mullin takes a step back to recover.
Mullin is breathing heavily.
Mullin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Dussander's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mullin under the eye.

Dussander slips a jab and a cross from Mullin.
Mullin fails to land the takedown.
Dussander chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mullin can pounce on him.

Dussander stands and steps away. Mullin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Good leg kick by Mullin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Mullin's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Dussander connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mullin scrambles back to his feet.
Dussander tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Michael Mullin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dussander stuffs the takedown attempt from Mullin. Mullin gets slowly back to his feet.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Dussander shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dussander was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dussander has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dussander cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Heinrich Dussander showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dussander, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
