Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Artur Ross!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Purpura Mortis!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross connects with a leg kick. Mortis looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Nice body punch from Ross.
Mortis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Mortis dives in and grabs Ross's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ross pushes down on Mortis's head and hops out.
Mortis is looking to clinch.
Ross pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mortis is out of range and Ross settles back down.
Mortis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ross can pounce on him.
Ross uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mortis.
Ross throws out a leg kick but Mortis moves out of range and Ross only half commits.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mortis checks the leg kick.
Ross lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ross swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Ross connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A head kick misses from Ross.
A shot to the liver by Mortis. Beautiful body shot.
Mortis shoots for a double leg takedown but Ross sprawls well. He's pushed Mortis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ross throws a sloppy head kick and Mortis moves out of range easily.
Ross lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ross looks to land a body kick but Mortis moved away.
Mortis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ross but Ross pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Artur Ross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Purpura Mortis.
A nice combination there by Mortis.
Ross lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Purpura Mortis has been cut.
Ross throws a leg kick but Mortis sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Ross lands a leg kick that knocks Mortis off balance momentarily.
That kick from Ross tenderised Mortis's leg. Mortis is trying to keep his angry face on.
Ross stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ross swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mortis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ross throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ross throws a leg kick that misses.
Mortis avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mortis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ross.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ross.
Ross scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Mortis tries for a takedown but Ross sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ross throws a nice head kick!
Ross cracks Mortis on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Mortis falls backwards against the cage. Ross follows up with more strikes that drop Mortis to his knees. Ross keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Mortis! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Artur Ross!

In his post fight interview, Artur Ross started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
