Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Takanori Kato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neo Trinity!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kato punishes Trinity's body with a nice straight punch.
Trinity looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Kato lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Trinity backs up against the cage.
It looks like Neo Trinity has been cut.
Kato throws a right and a left that Trinity avoids nicely.
Kato tries a head kick but it misses.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Trinity crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kato - the referee stops the clock and Trinity gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kato. Trinity manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Kato lands a left and a right that send Trinity crashing to the mat, dazed. Kato thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Trinity is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kato moves into the clinch.
Trinity is still on wobbly legs! Can Kato finish him?
Kato lands a big knee! That's hurt Trinity! Oh, he's all over the place! Kato lands another knee that sends Trinity to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Takanori Kato!
After winning the bout, Takanori Kato thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
