PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Skywalker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Bobberson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skywalker comes into the arena with Raised on Rock blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Skywalker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Bobberson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bobberson tries for a takedown but Skywalker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Skywalker steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bobberson.
Bobberson shoots for a double leg takedown but Skywalker sprawls well. He's pushed Bobberson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Skywalker throws a right hand that misses

and Bobberson counters with a takedown into side control.
Bobberson works to advance to full mount. Skywalker defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Skywalker is trying desperately to improve position.
Skywalker tries to lock up and control but Bobberson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Bobberson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Skywalker is now in Bobberson's guard. A big mistake from Bobberson there, giving up the dominant position!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Skywalker slips a nice elbow through Bobberson's hands, connecting with Bobberson's forehead.

Skywalker sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bobberson defending well though.
Skywalker not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Bobberson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Skywalker is working away from the top position though.
Skywalker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Skywalker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bobberson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bobberson gets back to full guard.
Skywalker won't allow Bobberson to sweep him here.

Bobberson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Skywalker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bobberson is trying to control the position but Skywalker postures up.
Skywalker lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bobberson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Skywalker's guard.

Bobberson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Skywalker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Skywalker has escaped and now he's on top!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bobberson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Skywalker has picked Bobberson up and slammed him! Bobberson can't keep hold of the triangle and Skywalker manages to pass to side control!

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Skywalker creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bobberson is looking for a sweep.
Bobberson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Skywalker prevents Bobberson from improving his position.
Skywalker passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bobberson!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Skywalker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bobberson looks a forlorn figure.

Skywalker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Bobberson's face.

Bobberson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bobberson can't escape the position.
Skywalker with shots to the head and body - Bobberson looks very uncomfortable down there.
Bobberson is still in real trouble! Can Skywalker finish him?
Skywalker lands a nice shot to the head.
Skywalker trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Bobberson regains half guard.
Bobberson is looking for a sweep. Skywalker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Still in half guard, Skywalker seems content to control.
Skywalker seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Skywalker is nestled in close to Bobberson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bobberson tries to roll over but Skywalker keeps him under control.
Skywalker lands strikes from half guard.
Skywalker is looking to take a break and control but Bobberson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Skywalker lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Bobberson! More strikes land and this one is all over! Skywalker jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
