The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a takedown attempt
and Nelson counters with a lovely straight right hand!

and Nelson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nelson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Nelson jabs Silva right on the nose. Silva blinks but takes it well.

Nelson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Silva takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Nelson misses with a looping right.

Silva has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Nelson after a bit of a struggle.

Nelson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
