Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brad Pickett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giorgio Stafunzio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Pickett as Stafunzio shoots in.
Both fighters circling a little - Pickett finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Stafunzio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pickett swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pickett defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stafunzio.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pickett gets control of Stafunzio's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pickett will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Pickett manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stafunzio manages to get himself to full guard.

Nice body punch from Pickett - that landed with a thud.

Pickett lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Pickett is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Stafunzio can't fight it off and eventually Pickett manages to take the fight to the floor. Stafunzio looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pickett stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Stafunzio.
Stafunzio throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Pickett counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pickett lands an elbow inside.
Pickett tightens his grip and picks Stafunzio up, before dumping him to the ground. Stafunzio manages to land in guard.
Pickett gets to his feet. Stafunzio looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Pickett closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stafunzio quickly recovers to half guard.

Pickett is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Pickett stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Stafunzio enables Pickett to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stafunzio manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Pickett turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pickett manages to end up in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pickett shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stafunzio but Stafunzio pushes him off and we're back to square one.

so Pickett counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Stafunzio is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pickett decides to stand back up. Pickett steps back and let's Stafunzio get back to his feet.

Pickett feints and as Stafunzio raises his hands in defense, Pickett changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stafunzio can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pickett controls the pace.
