The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging O Palmeiras to the ground. Wright is now in O Palmeiras's guard.
Wright tries to free his leg and advance position but O Palmeiras is retaining full guard.
Wright lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
O Palmeiras throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Wright escapes and throws O Palmeiras's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Wright wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by O Palmeiras, who protects the arm well.
O Palmeiras tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wright wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

O Palmeiras really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
