Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tomasz Kowalczyk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Lewis.
Lewis doesn't manage to clinch there - Kowalczyk circles away.
Kowalczyk looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lewis closes the distance and pushes Kowalczyk back into the cage.
Lewis lands with a left to the head.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kowalczyk shoots in looking for a takedown but Lewis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kowalczyk's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kowalczyk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lewis sprawls well. Lewis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kowalczyk gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomasz Kowalczyk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lewis rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kowalczyk moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kowalczyk clinches.
Lewis manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Kowalczyk tries to score a body lock takedown but Lewis shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Lewis breaks from the clinch.
Kowalczyk wants to clinch up but Lewis keeps it at a distance.
Kowalczyk tries for a takedown but Lewis circles away easily
and Lewis counters with a left to the body.
Kowalczyk is breathing heavily.
Kowalczyk takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Lewis lands with an overhand left.

Lewis cracks Kowalczyk with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Lewis has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kowalczyk to stand back up!


Kowalczyk is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lewis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Oh Kowalczyk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lewis tries to land knees in the clinch but Kowalczyk avoids the damage to the body.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kowalczyk seems to have got his legs back now.
A left lands for Lewis.

Lewis closes the distance and clinches.
Lewis is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Kowalczyk drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lewis gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lewis lands a body shot in the clinch.
Kowalczyk wants to get back to striking at distance but Lewis won't allow it.
Lewis is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Lewis has Kowalczyk pushed against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Lewis moves into the clinch.
Lewis misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kowalczyk.
Lewis is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
With the fighters up against the cage, Lewis throws an elbow but misses.
Kowalczyk tries to circle away but Lewis has him pinned against the cage.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Kowalczyk. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Kowalczyk takes an elbow to the forehead.

Lewis breaks the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kowalczyk tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lewis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kowalczyk somewhat.
Kowalczyk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lewis circles away quickly and effectively.
Hugo Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lewis wants to clinch up but Kowalczyk keeps it at a distance.
Kowalczyk takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Lewis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kowalczyk manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lewis throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kowalczyk on the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lewis darts in and clinches Kowalczyk up against the cage.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kowalczyk throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A leg kick checked by Lewis.
Kowalczyk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kowalczyk swats him away and circles back towards the center.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hugo Lewis dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kowalczyk thows a body shot but no joy.

Lewis has Kowalczyk up against the cage in a clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Lewis - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Lewis stops a takedown attempt from Kowalczyk.
Kowalczyk is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Lewis is defending well for now.
Kowalczyk is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lewis pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Lewis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lewis misses with a body shot.
Kowalczyk tries to clinch there but Lewis circles away.
Kowalczyk shoots in but Lewis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomasz Kowalczyk. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tomasz Kowalczyk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lewis is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Kowalczyk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Lewis! Kowalczyk is out on his feet! Lewis rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Kowalczyk is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Kowalczyk is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
