PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Buckner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Lytle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lytle has chosen Light's Out as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Buckner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christopher Lytle!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buckner has a takedown stuffed.

Buckner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Buckner decides to stand back up. Buckner steps back and let's Lytle get back to his feet.
Buckner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lytle as he jumps to the side.
Buckner keeps Lytle at a distance using the push kick.
Lytle doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Buckner counters with a stiff right hand.
Lytle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Buckner sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Lytle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Buckner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lytle has gone for a leg lock! Buckner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lytle's guard.

Buckner stands up from guard. Let's bang!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lytle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Buckner counters with a single leg into guard. Lytle didn't expect that.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lytle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Buckner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lytle looks gassed!
Buckner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lytle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Buckner trying to control but Lytle is working from the bottom.

Lytle has his foot on Buckner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Buckner works his way back into a safe position though.
Lytle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Buckner.

Lytle has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Buckner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lytle looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lytle manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lytle is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Buckner can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Buckner is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Lytle has taken his back.

Lytle is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lytle is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Buckner has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Lytle has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Buckner taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Lytle doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Christopher Lytle!
