Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Norbert Schwager!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
29 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Renzo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Schwager misses with a straight right.
Gracie avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gracie gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Gracie scores with a leg kick.
Schwager misses with a few strikes there.
Gracie checks a leg kick nicely.
Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Schwager sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Schwager which made him look bad.
Norbert Schwager has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renzo Gracie.
Gracie avoids a punch combination nicely.
Norbert Schwager is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Schwager displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.
Gracie tries to clinch up
and Schwager counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Schwager throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie slips a jab and a cross from Schwager.
Schwager throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schwager sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Schwager counters with a series of strikes. Gracie will be more careful next time no doubt.
Gracie is rocked!
Schwager dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can Schwager finish him?
Gracie looks winded!
Schwager tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gracie. Schwager does a little dance to reset his feet.
Schwager misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schwager pinned against the cage. Schwager gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Schwager throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schwager cracks Gracie on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Gracie falls backwards against the cage. Schwager follows up with more strikes that drop Gracie to his knees. Schwager keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Gracie! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Norbert Schwager!
