Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ken Bates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ginokai Kai Gi!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Crunch! Kai Gi slams his shin into Bates's torso.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kai Gi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kai Gi tries to clinch but Bates is having none of it.
Kai Gi lands a head kick!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Kai Gi.
Kai Gi misses with a head kick.
Bates fails with a takedown attempt.
Bates on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kai Gi doesn't manage to clinch there - Bates circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kai Gi lands a big head kick that sends Bates tumbling to the mat! Kai Gi takes a step backwards and waves Bates back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Bates is rocked!
It looks like Ken Bates has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kai Gi tries to clinch but Bates is having none of it.
Oh Bates is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bates looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
BAM! Kai Gi delivers a spinning backfist that drops Bates like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
