The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brown but Brown pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Brown moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

It looks like Alexander Karlsson has been cut.
Karlsson misses with a hook. Brown ducked under it nicely.
Karlsson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Karlsson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Brown lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Karlsson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Karlsson looks to land a left hand but Brown moved out of range nicely.

Karlsson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brown manages to avoid it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brown attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Brown throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Karlsson on the side of the head.
Brown does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Brown thows a body shot but no joy.
Karlsson misses the jab.

Brown fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Karlsson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Karlsson throws a big shot that misses.
Brown lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Brown misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Karlsson.

Brown gets a clinch.

Karlsson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Karlsson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karlsson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Anthony Brown has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Karlsson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Karlsson off to one side.

Brown sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Karlsson's guard.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Brown here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Karlsson tries to get to full guard but Brown has control of the leg.
Karlsson is not content to let Brown control the position.
Anthony Brown overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brown tries to pass the half guard into mount. Karlsson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Brown connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Brown wants to control the action but instead Karlsson gets a body lock and reverses into Brown's guard! Nice work!
