Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Bower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sativa Sensei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bower kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is When I'm With You. Sensei has chosen Stevie Ray - Pride and Joy as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sativa Sensei has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dave Bower's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Bower!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sativa Sensei!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Bower as he connects with a hook.
Sensei throws a body kick that misses.
Sensei fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bower throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Bower closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sensei did well to prevent Bower getting side control.
Sensei gets back to full guard.
Bower postures up in Sensei's guard and throws a big left but Sensei blocks it.
Bower lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Sensei preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sensei looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bower looking to pass the guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sensei wants to sweep here but Bower controlling him for the moment.

Bower is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Bower stands up over Sensei, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sensei controls Bower momentarily but Bower frees himself.
Bower wants to control from the top but Sensei keeps moving.

Bower is looking to work some ground and pound but Sensei has wrist control.

Bower drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sensei dives on top into guard.
Sensei throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Bower controls Sensei momentarily but Sensei frees himself.

Bower has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sensei can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Bower looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sensei is one step ahead there.
Sensei slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Bower bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sensei's guard.

Bower trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bower trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sensei utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bower lands a couple of digs.
Bower in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Bower is looking to work some ground and pound but Sensei has wrist control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bower accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bower postures up in Sensei's guard and throws a big left but Sensei blocks it.
Sensei is looking to stand up but Bower isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Bower throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sensei slips under a jab from Bower.
Sensei lands a right hook to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sensei.
Bower swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sensei.
Bower loads up on a big right hand but Sensei slips the punch.
Bower swings for the body but Sensei moves out of range.
Sensei throws a shot from downtown. Bower moves away and avoids it.
Sensei bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sensei wants to land a leg kick but Bower is out of range.
Sensei scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Sensei misses with a wild body shot.
Bower fails with a takedown attempt.
Sensei lands a jab.
Bower looks to score with a jab to the body but Sensei is just out of range.
Sensei misses with a looping left.
Bower closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sensei circles away.
Bower keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bower tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sensei was well out of range. Poor timing from Bower.

Bower takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Sensei throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sensei tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bower looks to score with a jab to the body but Sensei is just out of range.
Sensei has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sensei there as he acknowledges the shot.
Sensei is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bower rather than just go for the knockout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sensei takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Sensei moves in looking to clinch but Bower pushes him off.

Sativa Sensei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Sensei swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bower has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sensei.
Bower throws out a leg kick but Sensei moves out of range and Bower only half commits.
Bower thows a body shot but no joy.

A nice inside leg kick there by Sensei. That's going to slow Bower down.
Bower fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sensei throws a leg kick which misses Bower's front leg but catches the back leg as Bower tries to avoid it.
Sensei doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Sensei ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bower moves away.

Sensei displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bower.
Sensei lands with a nice body punch.
Bower shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sensei as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Bower. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nice jab there from Sensei.
Bower throws a right and a left that Sensei avoids nicely.
Sensei throws a head kick but Bower moves out of range.
Sensei misses with a low kick.
Sensei leaves Bower with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bower uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sensei.

Sensei cracks Bower with an open hand slap.
Bower shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sensei pinned against the cage. Sensei gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sensei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bower was well out of range. Poor timing from Sensei.
Sensei throws a leg kick that is checked
and Bower counters with a right hand to the body.
Bower fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sensei looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bower misses the shot to the body.
Bower digs a good hook to Sensei's body.
Bower blocks a head kick by Sensei.
Bower fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sensei manages to avoid it.

Bower misses with a straight left.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sensei. Bower does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bower stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sensei.
Bower throws a sloppy body shot
and Sensei counters with a head kick.
Bower misses with a hook. Sensei ducked under it nicely.
Bower fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sensei looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bower walks forward, straight into a front kick from Sensei.
Sativa Sensei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sensei scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Sensei just misses with a punch to the body.
Bower misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sensei.
Bower takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sensei connects with a single shot there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sensei looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The fighters circling - Bower throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sensei misses the shot to the body.
Sensei lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sensei. Bower does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bower swats away the attempt to clinch by Sensei.

Sativa Sensei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sensei lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Sativa Sensei comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sensei has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
