Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Colton Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Young has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Young looks winded!

Smith wants to work for an arm triangle but Young is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Young is defending well.
It looks like Smith is going to stand back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Smith in particular looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Colton Smith.

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
Smith slows the pace down in half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Colton Smith wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Young moves out of range easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
