PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rostam Samani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cash Patrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patrone has chosen Hatebreed - Live for this as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samani misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Patrone dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Samani pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Patrone throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Patrone uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Samani has time to react.
Patrone fails with a takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Patrone throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Samani sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Patrone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Samani manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Samani is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Samani bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Patrone's guard.
Patrone wants to sweep here but Samani controlling him for the moment.
Samani distracts Patrone with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Samani postures up in Patrone's guard and throws a big left but Patrone blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Rostam Samani will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Samani swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Patrone tries to score a power double leg takedown but Samani sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Patrone somewhat.
Samani will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Samani avoids the body shot from Patrone.
Patrone lands a really nice looking cross but Samani seems unphased.

Patrone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Rostam Samani overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Samani is looking to take a break and control but Patrone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Samani has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Patrone takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Patrone is rocked!
Samani scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Patrone is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Samani can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
