Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cortland Cartwright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shields has chosen Rage Against the Machine - Renegades of Funk as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cortland Cartwright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Shields! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shields thows a leg kick but Cartwright checks it and Cartwright counters by moving into the clinch. Cartwright breaks from the clinch.
Jake Shields seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cartwright checks the leg kick. Shields throws a push kick but Cartwright slaps the foot to one side. Cartwright checks a low kick from Shields. Cartwright fails with an attempt to clinch.

A big left from Shields misses. Cartwright wants to clinch up but Shields keeps it at a distance. Cartwright moves out of range as Shields strikes. Cartwright lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Shields keeps the fight on the outside. Cartwright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shields paws at him with a jab and circles away. The fight stays on the outside here - Cartwright looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cartwright fails in his attempt to clinch. Cartwright drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartwright working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Shields manages to get back to half guard. Shields gets back to full guard.

Cartwright has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Shields keeping moving, preventing Cartwright from controlling successfully. Shields is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cartwright is aware though and is defending well. Shields working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cartwright. Shields is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Cartwright has his hands clasped together but Shields extends an breaks Cartwright's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Shields.
