Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanma Bakki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hanma Bakki!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bakki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Johnson tries to lock up and control but Bakki gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Johnson is trying to escape the mount.

It looks like Bakki might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

It looks like John Johnson has been cut.

Bakki is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Johnson has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Johnson tries to reverse the position but Bakki maintains control.

Bakki is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bakki is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bakki has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Johnson is squirming around, avoiding Bakki's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bakki in particular looking to stall.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bakki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bakki stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Johnson throws a combination. Bakki tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Bakki looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bakki wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.

Hanma Bakki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

John Johnson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
A combination from Bakki does no damage.
Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson shoots in and drives through. Bakki sprawls well.
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

so Bakki counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bakki sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.
Bakki tries to pass the half guard into mount. Johnson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bakki is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Bakki wants to finish this one by submission but Johnson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bakki.

Jeez, John Johnson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Johnson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
