Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan falls off balance throwing a combination

and Torres decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Khan's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Khan uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Khan throws a right hand that Torres ducks under and follows up with a left that Torres also avoids with ease.
Khan moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Torres feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Khan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Torres moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Torres's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Torres has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Khan has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Khan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

You get the feeling that Khan really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Khan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Torres kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Torres gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Khan lands a jab-cross combination.
Khan throws a right hand that Torres ducks under and follows up with a left that Torres also avoids with ease.

Torres gets control of Khan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Torres will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Torres has picked Khan up - he's going for a ride! Torres dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Khan pushes Torres off looking to stand but Torres dives back in and keeps control.

Khan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Torres dives in and scores a takedown into Khan's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Khan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Torres escapes and throws Khan's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Torres is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Khan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Nelson Torres is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
