The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St James circles away from the clinch attempt.
St James feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
St James with a flurry of punches that miss.
St James looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Beedle pulls St James in close to his closed guard and prevents St James from doing any damage or advancing position.
Beedle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. St James is aware though and is defending well.
St James postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Beedle wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

St James postures up in Beedle's guard and throws a big left but Beedle blocks it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
St James throws a leg kick but Beedle sees it coming and moves out of range.

and St James counters with a nice body shot.

Beedle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
St James throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Beedle counters by clinching up.
Come on Beedle - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Beedle pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Beedle has his takedown stuffed
and St James makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Beedle has closed the distance and engaged St James in a clinch.
St James has a couple of punches blocked by Beedle.
Beedle wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
St James misses with a body punch.
Beedle blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Beedle tries to break the clinch but St James is controlling the position.
St James turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and St James manages to end up in side control.
