Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Courchesne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sync Fowler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Courchesne's entrance music is Two Steps From Hell - To Glory. A fine choice. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Sync Fowler enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Courchesne!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sync Fowler!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Courchesne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fowler tries to avoid it but Courchesne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fowler to the ground. Fowler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Fowler closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Courchesne quickly recovers to half guard.
Fowler trying to control the action but Courchesne is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fowler blocks the strikes from Courchesne.
Courchesne keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Fowler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Courchesne's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Fowler is working for a submission of some sort.

Courchesne is defending against the submission attempts here by Fowler.
Courchesne trying to hold on to Fowler's head to control him but Fowler postures up.

Fowler is looking for a kimura but Courchesne is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fowler to get the leverage.

Courchesne works his way to full guard. Good work.

Courchesne is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Courchesne is pulling down on Fowler's head. It's preventing any offense from Fowler, at least for the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Fowler wants to pass the guard but Courchesne is keeping the position.
Courchesne might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Courchesne not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Courchesne will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Fowler trying to control but Courchesne is working from the bottom.
Courchesne manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fowler is looking to get to half guard.
Courchesne with shots to the head and body - Fowler looks very uncomfortable down there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Courchesne cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fowler tries to reverse the position but Courchesne maintains control.
Courchesne breaks from Fowler's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Courchesne postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Fowler looks a forlorn figure.


Fowler is rocked!
Courchesne pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Fowler is still in real trouble! Can Courchesne finish him?
Courchesne lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Courchesne postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Fowler looks a forlorn figure.
Fowler is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Courchesne cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Courchesne! Fowler is hurt baaadly! Courchesne is firing away with more strikes - Fowler is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonathan Courchesne!
