Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Ochoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Austin comes to the cage accompanied by Stone Cold Entrance. Ochoa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ice Cube - I Rep That West kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Austin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Ochoa!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin dodges the punch combination from Ochoa.
Austin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ochoa sprawls well. Ochoa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Austin gets slowly back to his feet.
Ochoa throws a nice inside leg kick.
Austin closes the distance and clinches up with Ochoa, looking for a takedown. Austin pushes Ochoa against the cage but Ochoa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ochoa scores with a leg kick.
Ochoa throws a solid leg kick but Austin takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ochoa.
Ochoa throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Austin moves out of range as Ochoa throws a body kick.

Austin shoots in but Ochoa avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Austin dives in and grabs Ochoa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ochoa pushes down on Austin's head and hops out.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ochoa.

Austin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ochoa but Ochoa pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Danny Ochoa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ochoa wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Ochoa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ochoa wants it to stay on the feet.

Austin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Austin blocks the body kick.
Ochoa throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ochoa.
Austin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ochoa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Austin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ochoa!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Austin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Ochoa tries to hold on but Austin postures up.

Austin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Austin landing strikes from the mount and Ochoa is in trouble!
Austin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ochoa's face.
Austin throws a sloppy strike and Ochoa uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Ochoa has ended up in Austin's guard.
Austin can't keep his opponent in guard - Ochoa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Ochoa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Austin defends it well.
Austin is looking for a sweep. Ochoa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Austin wants to control but Ochoa is keeping busy.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Ochoa stands up from half guard.
Ochoa tries to clinch up but Austin circles away and keeps his distance.
Austin tries for a takedown but Ochoa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ochoa misses with a shot to the body

and Austin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ochoa seems keen to control Austin's posture.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Austin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Austin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Danny Ochoa will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


No luck for Austin with that takedown attempt.
Steve Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Austin looks for a takedown but Ochoa sprawls well.

Ochoa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Austin.
Ochoa tries to land a front kick but Austin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Austin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ochoa cracks Austin with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ochoa feints and then cracks Austin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Austin down.

Ochoa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Austin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ochoa tries to avoid it but Austin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ochoa to the ground. Ochoa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Austin is rocked!
Austin glances at the clock... BAM! Ochoa nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Austin crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Austin is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Danny Ochoa!
Danny Ochoa is the new bantamweight champion!
Danny Ochoa decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
