The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smithy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cali.

Smithy gets the takedown into side control.
Smithy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Cali looks to move to half guard but instead Smithy has passed into mount! Damn!
Smithy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cali is looking to escape.
Cali wants to control but Smithy is having none of it.
Smithy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Smithy scoring with strikes but Cali is staying in there.
Cali avoids a series of strikes thrown by Smithy.

Smithy tries to control but Cali wriggling away.

Smithy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Cali is on top in guard.

Cali trying to control the position from guard on top but Smithy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cali tries to stand but Smithy is controlling from the bottom.
Smithy is trying to control the position but Cali postures up.

Cali working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Smithy's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smithy is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cali rolls with it to try and escape but Smithy cranks on the arm and Cali is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
