Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jima Jammy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aapo Kalypsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jima Jammy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aapo Kalypsi!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Kalypsi there.

It looks like Jima Jammy has been cut.
Jammy throws a good cross that connects.

Jammy instigates a clinch.
Kalypsi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Jammy misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kalypsi.
Kalypsi goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Jammy tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Kalypsi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kalypsi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jammy's waist but Jammy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kalypsi off to one side.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kalypsi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

and Jammy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Kalypsi throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Jammy throws a sloppy head kick and Kalypsi moves out of range easily.

Jammy tries to close the distance and clinch but Kalypsi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kalypsi. Jammy does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kalypsi shoots in looking for a takedown but Jammy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kalypsi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jima Jammy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aapo Kalypsi.

Kalypsi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kalypsi swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jammy is now in Kalypsi's guard. A big mistake from Kalypsi there, giving up the dominant position!

Kalypsi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jammy stacks Kalypsi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jammy!

Jammy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kalypsi on the ground.

Jammy has knee on belly momentarily but Kalypsi bucks him off and regains half guard.
Kalypsi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aapo Kalypsi dominated that round.

That's time! Jammy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Kalypsi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jammy but Jammy pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kalypsi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jammy pinned against the cage. Jammy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jammy's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Jammy duly obliges.

Kalypsi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jammy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kalypsi but great work by Jammy.

Jammy decides to stand back up. Jammy steps back and let's Kalypsi get back to his feet.

Kalypsi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jammy quickly recovers to half guard.
Jammy is looking for a sweep. Kalypsi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aapo Kalypsi hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Kalypsi throws a push kick but Jammy slaps the foot to one side.
Jammy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kalypsi moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kalypsi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jammy is fending him off so far but Kalypsi persists. Nope, Jammy circles away and we're back to standing.
Jammy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kalypsi paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kalypsi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Jammy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jammy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kalypsis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jammy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Kalypsi is rocked!
Jammy fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Kalypsi to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Kalypsi looks to clinch but Jammy throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Kalypsi taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Jima Jammy really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that BioPharm Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
