PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bret Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bv Rasp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hart comes to the cage accompanied by Vertigo - U2. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bret Hart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bv Rasp!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rasp feints and as Hart raises his hands in defense, Rasp changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rasp trying to control but Hart is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rasp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hart looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Hart is looking for a triangle but Rasp pushes his legs off easily.

Rasp drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rasp jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hart working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rasp doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rasp manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rasp trying to control but Hart is working from the bottom.
Hart pulls Rasp in close to his closed guard and prevents Rasp from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rasp passes Hart's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Rasp is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hart pushes Rasp off and gets back to his feet.

Rasp fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hart to the ground. Rasp is now in Hart's guard.
Rasp wants to control from the top but Hart keeps moving.

Hart escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rasp gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hart wants to improve his position but instead Rasp has moved into half guard.

Rasp seems to be looking for submissions.

Rasp is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hart defends it well.

Rasp is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hart sees it coming and defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hart wants to control but Rasp is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hart keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Hart tries to roll over but Rasp keeps him under control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rasp is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hart sees it coming and defends easily.
Hart gets full guard.
Rasp tries to free his leg and advance position but Hart is retaining full guard.
Rasp trying to control the position from guard on top but Hart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hart looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rasp is one step ahead there.
Rasp wants to control from the top but Hart keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bv Rasp hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hart jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hart. That's going to slow Rasp down.

Rasp moves into the clinch.
Rasp is trying to drag Hart to the mat but Hart just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Hart breaks from the clinch.
Rasp tries to clinch up but Hart circles away and keeps his distance.
Hart avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hart lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hart takes a swing at Rasp's ribcage but misses.
Rasp bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hart moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Rasp tries to clinch but Hart moves out of range.
Hart bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rasp tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hart sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rasp somewhat.
Hart rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Rasp counters with a straight right hand.
Bret Hart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rasp scores with a decent looking hook.
Rasp ducks under a wild hook from Hart.
Rasp on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Bret Hart is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hart misses the shot to the body.
Hart looks for the body kick but Rasp saw that one coming.
Rasp fails with an attempt to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hart cracks Rasp with a right hand to the side of the head.
Rasp takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rasp misses with a two punch combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bv Rasp will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Hart throws a low kick, looking for Rasp's leg but Rasp calmly moves out of range.
Rasp ducks under a wild hook from Hart.
Rasp moves in looking to clinch but Hart pushes him off.
Hart throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Rasp moves out of range of the strikes.
Rasp throws a body punch but Hart moves out of range.

Rasp shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hart looking for a sweep. Not yet Hart, not yet.
Hart manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rasp manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Rasp has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Hart doesn't defend quickly enough and Rasp has managed to lock this one up! Can Hart escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Rasp on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bv Rasp!
