Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jared Cowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jared Cowen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marco Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cowen getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Cowen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cowen wants it to stay on the feet.
Gomez fails with a takedown attempt.
Jared Cowen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Gomez.
Gomez looks for a takedown but Cowen sprawls well.
Cowen throws a right and a left that Gomez avoids nicely.

Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown. Cowen tries to sprawl out of it but Gomez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cowen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Marco Gomez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cowen misses with a low kick.

Cowen throws the left hand but Gomez avoids the punch easily.
Gomez fails with the takedown.
Gomez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gomez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cowen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gomez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gomez tries for a kimura but Cowen is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gomez has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Cowen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gomez on the ground.
Gomez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Cowen manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gomez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cowen, who protects the arm well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gomez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Gomez goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cowen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gomez's guard! Nice work there by Cowen!
Gomez working for a triangle but Cowen defends it easily.
Gomez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gomez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cowen stacks Gomez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cowen!

Gomez is looking for a sweep.
Gomez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Cowen controls the position.
Gomez tries to buck Cowen off but Cowen is having none of it.
Cowen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gomez regains half guard.

Gomez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cowen pulls his head out easily.
Gomez is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marco Gomez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gomez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cowen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Cowen gets caught napping as Gomez dives in and scores a takedown. Cowen manages to retain guard.
Gomez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cowen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gomez, into his guard.
Gomez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cowen defends well.

Gomez has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Cowen doesn't defend quickly enough and Gomez has managed to lock this one up! Can Cowen escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Gomez on a fantastic submission victory.
