Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Fedorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Gornev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Gornev.

Fedorov darts in and clinches Gornev up against the cage.

Fedorov gets control of Gornev's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fedorov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Fedorov has his hands on Gornev's head, controlling the position.
Gornev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fedorov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gornev's guard.
Fedorov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fedorov wants to pass the guard but Gornev is keeping the position.
Gornev is looking to stand up but Fedorov isn't so interested in that idea.
Fedorov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Fedorov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Fedorov takes a head kick and keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fedorov dodges the punch combination from Gornev.

Fedorov get's back to his feet.
Gornev throws a sloppy head kick

and Fedorov counters with a shoot takedown. Gornev fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gornev looks gassed!
Fedorov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Fedorov gets a clinch.
Fedorov stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Gornev is trying to break the clinch but Fedorov has him pressed against the cage.

Fedorov wants the takedown. Gornev is fighting it off but Fedorov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gornev's guard against the cage.

Gornev is working an open guard so Fedorov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Fedorov slowing the pace effectively.
Fedorov lands a shoulder strike.
Fedorov's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Fedorov has clasped his hands together around Gornev's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Fedorov has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Gornev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Fedorov pulls Gornev into guard.
Fedorov seems keen to control Gornev's posture.
Fedorov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gornev on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Fedorov stops Gornev from getting back to his feet.

Fedorov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Aleksandr Fedorov just wasn't active enough.
Gornev misses with a double jab

and Fedorov counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gornev is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Fedorov has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Fedorov is working to tighten is grip on Gornev's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gornev has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Fedorov is really squeezing tight and eventually Gornev passes out! Fedorov breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
