Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dragic Moniko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chael Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moniko slips a jab from Sonnen.
Nice uppercut lands for Moniko. That snapped Sonnen's head back.
It looks like Chael Sonnen has been cut.
Moniko scores with a punch to the head.
Moniko looks to land a combination but Sonnen avoids it well.
Moniko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sonnen throws out a loose jab but Moniko uses good head movement to avoid it.
Moniko wants to clinch up but Sonnen keeps it at a distance.
Moniko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sonnen moves away.
Sonnen slips a jab from Moniko.
Sonnen dodges the punch combination from Moniko.
Nice uppercut lands for Moniko. That snapped Sonnen's head back.

Moniko connects with a single shot there.
Sonnen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Moniko sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sonnen swings widly with a right hand
and Moniko counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

That has opened up Chael Sonnen's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sonnen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Moniko.
No joy there for Moniko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Moniko leaves Sonnen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sonnen looks gassed!
Moniko moves out of range of the strikes.

Moniko lands a lovely overhand right.
Moniko cracks Sonnen with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Moniko has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Sonnen to stand back up!
Sonnen is rocked!
The cut above Chael Sonnen's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Moniko lands with a right and another and another! Sonnen is in big trouble! Moniko lands again and this time it's lights out for Sonnen! A quality knockout there for Moniko.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dragic Moniko!
