PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Heinze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and High Strangeness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). High Strangeness told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andreas Heinze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, High Strangeness!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strangeness cracks the inside of Heinze's front leg.

Heinze shoots in and bounces Strangeness off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Heinze throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Strangeness is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Strangeness looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Heinze controls from within his opponent's guard.
Heinze throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Strangeness works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Strangeness manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Heinze is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Heinze blocking the ground and pound.
Strangeness scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Heinze?

It looks like Andreas Heinze has been cut.
Heinze keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Heinze is squirming around, avoiding Strangeness's attempts to control the action.
Strangeness sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Strangeness has hold of Heinze's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Heinze manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Strangeness lands a nice shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Strangeness misses with a head shot.

Strangeness wants to finish this one by submission but Heinze is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Strangeness.

Strangeness punching from mount but Heinze doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Heinze is wriggling around trying to escape.
Heinze is squirming around, avoiding Strangeness's attempts to control the action.
Strangeness throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Strangeness breaks from Heinze's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Heinze is looking to get to half guard.

Andreas Heinze's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Andreas Heinze's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

During a confident post fight interview, High Strangeness thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
