Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eks Man (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urvin Janzen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man comes to the cage accompanied by The Prodigy 'Invaders Must Die' . Janzen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: El Guapo Likes to Dance. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eks Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Urvin Janzen!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The fighters circling - Man throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Janzen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Janzen's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Man not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Man trying to control the position from guard on top but Janzen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eks Man.
Janzen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Nice sprawl there from Janzen as Man shoots in.
Man misses with an uppercut.

Man closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Janzen did well to prevent Man getting side control.
Janzen is looking for a sweep. Man is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Man performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Man tries to pass the half guard into mount. Janzen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Man trying to control from half guard but Janzen is working away.
Man is really struggling to control Janzen but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Man throwing shots but Janzen is blocking nicely.

Man seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Janzen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Man is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

We're going to have a standup here because Eks Man wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Man shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Janzen as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eks Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Janzen throws a jab but it's blocked by Man.
A jab lands there for Janzen.
Man uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Janzen has time to react.
Eks Man seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Man shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Janzen sprawls well. Janzen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Man gets slowly back to his feet.
A jab lands there for Man.
Man misses with the body kick
and Janzen counters with a solid body kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Janzen moves out of range of the strikes.
A swing and a miss from Man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eks Man dominated that round.

Janzen slips a straight right by Man.
Man scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Janzen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Man connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Janzen moves out of range of the strikes.
Man misses with a takedown attempt - Janzen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Man throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Donk. Man catches Janzen right on the button with a cross.
A combination from Janzen does no damage.
Janzen scores with a crisp jab that stopped Man in his tracks.
Janzen stuffs the takedown attempt from Man. Man gets slowly back to his feet.
Man fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eks Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Man shoots in and drives through. Janzen sprawls well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Man throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Man misses with a looping left.
Nice body kick there by Janzen.
Man is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Man moves out of range of the body kick.
Janzen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Man.
Man misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Janzen misses with an uppercut. Man saw that one coming.

Janzen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Man.
Eks Man is winning the standup battle so far.
Man throws a poor cross that misses
and Janzen counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Man walks into a jab.
Man walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Janzen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Man tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Janzen was well out of range. Poor timing from Man.
Janzen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Man. Man circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Man changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Janzen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Man trying to control the position but Janzen is working away.

Man goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Janzen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Man's guard! Nice work there by Janzen!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Man looking to hit a scissor sweep but Janzen is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Eks Man will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Janzen lets loose with a powerful body kick. Man will feel that in the morning.
Man shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Janzen pinned against the cage. Janzen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Janzen looks to land a left hand but Man moved out of range nicely.
Man fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Janzen avoids it really well and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Janzen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Man moves away.
Man shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Janzen defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eks Man. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Janzen lands with a shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Janzen throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Man looks to score with a jab to the body but Janzen is just out of range.
A slow jab from Man misses its intended target.
Man throws a right hand that misses
and Janzen counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Man is lucky that one didn't land flush.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Janzen scores with a shot to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Janzen moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Janzen throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Janzen sends Man crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Janzen is motioning to the referee to let Man up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Urvin Janzen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!


Man is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Man takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Oh Man is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Janzen throws an overhand right that drops Man like a sack of potatoes! Janzen dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Urvin Janzen!
An out of breath Urvin Janzen thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
