And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Piere!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piere stuns Gon with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gon throws a sloppy head kick and Piere moves out of range easily.
Piere misses with a series of wild punches.

Gon closes the distance and clinches.
Gon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Gon tries to work over Piere's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Piere has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Nice body punch from Gon.
Piere tries for a takedown but Gon manages to get underhooks.

Gon misses with a hook from the clinch.
Piere can't get the takedown.
Jo Gon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Piere.

Piere comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Piere throws a series of punches but Gon moves out of range.

Gon lands a nice leg kick that just misses Piere's sensitive parts.

Piere will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Piere throws a right hand that Gon ducks under and follows up with a left that Gon also avoids with ease.
Gon dodges the punch combination from Piere.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Piere scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gon slips a jab and a cross from Piere.
Piere fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gon avoids it really well and circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Piere's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Piere duly obliges.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but George Piere will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


The fighters circle momentarily. Piere darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Jo Gon has been cut.
Gon lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Piere swinging wildly here.
A head kick misses from Gon.
Gon takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Piere.
Piere comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Piere tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gon swivels and escapes.
Piere fails with the takedown.

Gon jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
An inside leg kick lands from Gon.
Piere uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Gon has time to react.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Piere. That did some damage!
Gon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Piere.

Piere fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Piere will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gon bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Nice body kick from Gon.

Piere shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gon defends it nicely.
Piere misses the shot to the body.

Gon moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

George Piere showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Piere pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gon back to the cage. Piere follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Gon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gon wants it to stay on the feet.
Gon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Piere rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
An inside leg kick lands from Gon.
George Piere seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Piere tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Piere somewhat.

Piere fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gon avoids it really well and circles away.
Jo Gon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Piere.

Piere fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gon to the ground. Piere is now in Gon's guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Piere trying to control the position from guard on top but Gon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Gon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Piere.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A right-left combo lands from Piere.

Piere swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Piere misses with a few strikes there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Piere avoids the head kick by Gon.

George Piere comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Piere winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
