The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Passaro.
Harvey Passaro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Passaro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Passaro circles away from the clinch attempt.

Passaro shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Silva is trying to defend but Passaro finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Passaro walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Passaro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.

Passaro shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard.

Passaro is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silva is aware though and is defending well.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Passaro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Passaro's legs - danger averted.
Silva stands and throws Passaro's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
