The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davy blocks a head kick by XinZhao.
XinZhao misses with a two punch combination.
XinZhao uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Davy.
Sloppy strikes from XinZhao. Those never looked like landing.
Davy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
XinZhao throws a right hand that Davy ducks under and follows up with a left that Davy also avoids with ease.
XinZhao misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
XinZhao scores with a jab to the jaw.
Davy misses with a looping left.
XinZhao misses with a few strikes there.
Davy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from XinZhao.

Davy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. XinZhao doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Davy.

XinZhao is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Davy tries to pass to full mount but XinZhao defends it.
XinZhao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Davy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Davy takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

XinZhao is defending against the submission attempts here by Davy.

Davy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so XinZhao is just riding it out for now. Davy eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Davy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Davy moves into range and clinches up with XinZhao.
XinZhao is trying to break the clinch but Davy is controlling him.

Davy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Davy misses with a head kick.
Imperial XinZhao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davy slips a jab and a cross from XinZhao.

XinZhao moves out of range of the body kick.

XinZhao blocks the body kick.
A combination from XinZhao does no damage.
Imperial XinZhao is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
XinZhao throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
XinZhao fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Davy manages to avoid it.

Davy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Davy in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Davy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by XinZhao, who protects the arm well.
Davy is looking to take a break and control but XinZhao is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

XinZhao avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Davy.
XinZhao is trying to escape the position but Davy is controlling the position.
Davy's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Davy has hold of XinZhao's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! XinZhao tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Davy cranks the arm and XinZhao screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from XinZhao, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
