Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Jake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Fowler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Jake has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Jake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chase Fowler!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jake shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Fowler counters with a shoot takedown. Jake fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jake wants to stand and escape but Fowler is having none of it.

Jake pushes Fowler off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jake fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jake misses with a body shot

and Fowler counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jake!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fowler breaks from Jake's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Fowler trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Jake wants to get back to his feet.

Jake somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

That's one minute gone in the round.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jake.
Fowler stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fowler wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Jake. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jake is breathing heavily.
Jake shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Fowler sprawls well. Fowler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jake gets slowly back to his feet.

Jake clinches.
Fowler goes for a takedown attempt but Jake pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jake looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fowler closes the distance and clinches up with Jake, looking for a takedown. Fowler pushes Jake against the cage but Jake circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jake rushes Fowler and presses him up against the cage.
Jake throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fowler blocks it with crossed arms.
Jake lands a damaging elbow.
Fowler tries to score a body lock takedown but Jake shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jake tries to pull guard but Fowler won't allow it.
Jake fails to pull guard.
Jake unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Jake pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fowler can't get the takedown.
Jake trying to land knees to the body.
Jake throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Fowler has Jake pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jake manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Fowler is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Jake is defending well.
Fowler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jake is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jake pulls guard successfully.
Fowler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fowler tries to free his leg and advance position but Jake is retaining full guard.
Fowler prevents Jake from getting back to his feet.
Fowleris looking to pass into half guard but Jake pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jake is in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fowler tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jake is looking to work some ground and pound but Fowler has wrist control.
Jake wants to stand and escape but instead Fowler has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Fowler pushing down on Jake's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Jake is refusing to be controlled, as Fowler sits in half guard.
Fowler seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fowler is keen to just control but Jake is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Fowler dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Jake gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jake is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fowler is controlling him.

Jake uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Jake is looking to clinch.

Jake gets caught flat footed, as Fowler shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fowler slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Jake tries to escape but Fowler is in control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fowler lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jake down.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jake is pushing Fowler's head away, looking to escape. Fowler manages to hold on to the position though.

Fowler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fowler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jake is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Fowler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jake has escaped the position, nice work there.

Fowler tries for a kimura but Jake is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ground and pound from Fowler seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jake tries to escape but Fowler is in control.
Fowler tries to advance to mount but Jake denies him.

Fowler tries for a kimura but Jake is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fowler is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jake is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fowler working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Jake tries to escape but Fowler is in control.
Fowler lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Jake is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Fowler tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jake's legs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fowler in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Jake is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chase Fowler!
