Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emil Blonksy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Nigel Swanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Emil Blonksy!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Phil Schofield and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blonksy wants to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Swanson is defended easily by Blonksy.
Blonksy doesn't manage to clinch there - Swanson circles away.
Swanson tries to clinch up.
Blonksy lands a head shot.
Blonksy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Swanson.
Swanson tries to clinch up but Blonksy circles away and keeps his distance.
Swanson shoots in but no luck this time.
Swanson misses with a takedown attempt - Blonksy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nigel Swanson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Swanson avoids the body shot from Blonksy.
Swanson cracks Blonksy with a right hand to the side of the head.
Blonksy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Swanson.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Swanson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Swanson swats away the attempt to clinch by Blonksy.
Swanson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Blonksy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Swanson.
Blonksy misses with a looping right.
Swanson throws a poor cross that misses
and Blonksy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Blonksy thows a body shot but no joy.

Swanson tries to keep at a distance but Blonksy has taken the fight into the clinch.
Blonksy misses with the head strike.
Swanson lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Blonksy misses with a hook from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Blonksy breaks from the clinch.
A left and a right from Blonksy both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Nigel Swanson has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Swanson staying out of range there.

Blonksy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Swanson shoots in looking for a takedown but Blonksy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Swanson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Blonksy fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Swanson on the side of the head.
Swanson throws the left hand but Blonksy avoids the punch easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Blonksy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Swanson on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Swanson misses the target.
Emil Blonksy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Blonksy connects with a right that clearly hurt Swanson. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Blonksy proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Swanson collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Emil Blonksy!
An out of breath Emil Blonksy thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
