Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mad Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waldek Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mad Dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Waldek Silva!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Dog lands a head kick!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dog really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dog pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dog fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Silva blocks a head kick by Dog.
Dog throws a head kick that Silva semi-blocks.
Dog stuffs the takedown attempt from Silva. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
Silva shoots for a takedown but Dog saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mad Dog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Waldek Silva.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dog keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva fails to land the takedown.
Dog throws a head kick that misses.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Silva prevents Dog from improving his position.

Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dog.
Dog tries a head kick but it misses.

Dog scores with a head kick. Silva tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Dog didn't expect that.
Silva looks gassed!
Silva wants to control from the top but Dog keeps moving.

Dog looking for subs off his back but Silva has passed one foot through into half guard.

Silva is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dog controlling the position for now.
Silva is keen to just control but Dog is a slippery customer.
Silva is stalling here. Dog is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Silva seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dog has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dog looking to control but instead Silva has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Silva is trying to get back to full guard.
Dog trying to pass the guard but Silva defending well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dog in particular looking to stall.
Silva is not content to let Dog control the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dog is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dog misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dog slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dog goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Dog fights it but they end up in guard.

Dog looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Silva postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dog is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dog lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Silva!

Silva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Mad Dog overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dog tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Silva wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Dog is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Silva defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Dog will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dog is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Dog just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Dog's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Mad Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dog pinned against the cage. Dog gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dog.
Dog throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dog sprawls well. Dog wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.
