Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Helms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Granddaddy Purps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Granddaddy Purps struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Granddaddy Purps!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helms shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Purps eats them both and turns towards Helms to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Granddaddy Purps has been cut.
Purps looks to score with a jab to the body but Helms is just out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Helms darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Purps ducks under a wild hook from Helms.
Purps feints a jab promting Helms to slip. Purps then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Helms slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Purps takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Purps tries a head kick but it misses.
Helms stuffs the takedown.
Purps looks gassed!
Purps on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Helms throws a nice looking combination but Purps bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Purps rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Helms moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sloppy strikes from Helms. Those never looked like landing.
Purps takes one to the chin there.
No joy there for Helms, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Purps closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Purps avoids the body shot from Helms.
Helms scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Helms misses with a looping left.
Helms lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Helms fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Helms connects with a right hand. Purps shakes it off.
Helms lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Purps circles away quickly and effectively.
Purps takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Helms throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Purps on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Helms swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice cross by Helms.
Purps is rocked!
Helms throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Purps stumbling backwards into the cage! Purps bounces back off the cage towards Helms, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Helms lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Helms celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Carlos Helms!
