PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robbin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thi Santanna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Nervecell - Psychogenocide. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Santanna was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Santanna keeps moving.
Santanna avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Gracie tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Santanna smiles and moves away.
Santanna scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Santanna throws a hook but Gracie avoids it easily.

Gracie drives through and clinches with Santanna against the cage.
Santanna is trying to break the clinch but Gracie has him pressed against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thi Santanna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Santanna manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Santanna fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gracie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Santanna is looking to control Gracie's arms but Gracie gets an underhook and turns him. Now Santanna has his back to the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Santanna is looking to break free of the clinch but Gracie has double underhooks.

Gracie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Santanna was well out of range. Poor timing from Gracie.

Santanna throws a hook to the side of Gracie's head but Gracie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Santanna's waist but Santanna gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gracie.
Santanna tries to clinch up but Gracie circles away and keeps his distance.

and Gracie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Santanna's guard.

Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie won't allow Santanna to sweep him here.

Gracie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Santanna is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Santanna has escaped and now he's on top!

Santanna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Santanna doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Santanna manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Robbin Gracie will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Santanna.
