Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chip Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cain might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to A Warrior's Call. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chip Douglas!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Douglas there as he acknowledges the shot.
Cain misses with a straight left.
Mike Cain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cain lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Cain looks to land a right hand but Douglas moved out of range.
Douglas ducks under a wild hook from Cain.
A shot to the body from Cain misses

and Douglas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cain won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Douglas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cain has escaped the position, nice work there.
Douglas tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Douglas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Douglas looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Douglas stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Cain throws out a loose jab but Douglas uses good head movement to avoid it.

Cain loads up on a big right hand but Douglas slips the punch.
Cain misses with a hook

and Douglas counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Cain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Douglas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Douglas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cain is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cain has escaped and now he's on top!

Douglas is looking for a triangle but Cain pushes his legs off easily.

Douglas is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Douglas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cain has managed to get both his arms back between Douglas's legs - danger averted.

Douglas looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Douglas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cain defends it easily.
Douglas keeping moving, preventing Cain from controlling successfully.
Cain trying to stand up but can't free himself from Douglas's guard.

Cain got a little sloppy there for a moment and Douglas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cain has managed to get both his arms back between Douglas's legs - danger averted.

Cain stands up from Douglas's guard - Cain perhaps looking for a knockout.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Douglas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cain.

Douglas moves into the clinch.
Douglas is looking for a takedown.
Cain wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Douglas lands a nice uppercut.

Douglas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Cain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Douglas slips under a jab.
Cain swings for the body but Douglas moves out of range.
Cain throws a jab when Douglas was well out of range.
Cain rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Douglas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cain's guard.
Douglas tries to free his leg and advance position but Cain is retaining full guard.
Douglas looks gassed!
Cain wants to stand up but Douglas is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cain is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cain trying to keep a closed guard but Douglas is proving a slippery customer.

Douglas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cain looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cain looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cain!
Cain tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Douglas tries to bench press Cain off him but Cain keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chip Douglas dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Douglas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cain is trying to defend but Douglas finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Chip Douglas has got the better of the ground game so far.

Douglas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cain sees it coming and defends easily.
Cain won't allow Douglas to pass to mount.

Douglas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cain doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Douglas.
Cain is looking to control Douglas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cain avoid being mounted?

Douglas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Douglas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cain sees it coming and defends easily.
Douglas passes to full mount!

Douglas with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Cain is desperately trying to improve his position but Douglas has a good base and remains in mount.
Douglas postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cain looks a forlorn figure.

Cain is in all sorts of trouble here.

Douglas is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cain has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cain!

Douglas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Douglas has his feet on Cain's thighs here. He's pushed Cain off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Cain screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
