The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Johnson loads up on a big right hand but Brookins slips the punch.
Johnson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Brookins lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Johnson at a distance.

and Brookins counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Johnson thinking.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Johnson enables Brookins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Johnson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Brookins is in close to Johnson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
